Examples:

• Alex: "I am going to meet a friend". Alex said he was going to meet a friend.
• Carla: "I went to Mexico last summer". Carla said she had been to mexico the summer before.
• Jason:"My wife went with me to the show yesterday". Jason said his wife had gone with him to the show the day before.
• The teacher: "Don't speak so loud". The teacher told the students not to speak so loud.
• She said: "Carol speak English". She told Carol to speak English.
  
• She asked: "Do you want to come with me?". She asked me if I wanted to come with her.
• Sara asked Toni: "Where did you go last weekend?". Sara asked Toni where he had gone the previous weekend.
